This concept <b>not only focuses on the use of clean energy<\/b>, but also encompasses a comprehensive approach towards a more efficient, accessible and environmentally friendly transport system.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title2\">What is sustainable mobility?<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">Sustainable mobility refers to the adoption of practices and technologies that seek to reduce the <b>environmental impact of transport<\/b>. This involves a shift towards transport modes that use renewable energy, such as electric vehicles, <b>efficient public transport and non-motorised options such as walking or cycling<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">This approach not only mitigates air pollution, but also addresses other problems arising from traditional transport systems, such as noise, road congestion and dependence on fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><b>Sustainable mobility seeks to enable people to move efficiently and equitably<\/b>, without compromising the well-being of future generations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title2\">Underground parking: Key players in the cities of the future<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">Along these lines, we should ask ourselves whether infrastructures such as underground parking <b>can be examples of sustainable mobility<\/b> in the cities of the present and future.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">I am not wholly impartial in this regard, since my work at iPark Estacionamientos y Servicios de Movilidad S.A. consists mainly of <b>identifying, defining, building and managing underground or high-rise car parks<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Even though this is my profession, I cannot help but be convinced that underground car parks play a key role in sustainable mobility for many reasons.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">And I am not the only person who thinks so, since <b>62% of Spaniards consider private cars to be key elements in their travels.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13611769 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-620x349.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-620x349.jpg 620w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-177x100.jpg 177w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-960x539.jpg 960w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-635x358.jpg 635w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-472x266.jpg 472w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-309x174.jpg 309w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-228x128.jpg 228w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo.jpg 1200w\" alt=\"psrking suberra\u0301neo\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" data-src=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-620x349.jpg\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-620x349.jpg 620w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-177x100.jpg 177w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-960x539.jpg 960w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-635x358.jpg 635w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-472x266.jpg 472w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-309x174.jpg 309w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo-228x128.jpg 228w, https:\/\/okdiario.com\/img\/2024\/10\/09\/psrking-suberraneo.jpg 1200w\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title2\">Ecological transition<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">These infrastructures fit perfectly into urban plans that promote the efficient use of space, the <b>reduction of traffic congestion<\/b> and the transition towards greener modes of transport.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">To name a few of its benefits and impact on cities, underground parking allows urban space to be optimised, understanding how <b>the use of underground infrastructure for parking vehicles allows valuable spaces to be freed up on public roads<\/b> that can be used for other purposes, such as parks, cycle paths, pedestrian zones or public transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title2\">Urban planning for well-being<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">In this manner, cities can allocate more areas for the public\u2019s enjoyment, reducing the density of vehicles on public roads and promoting <b>urban planning that is more oriented towards people&#8217;s well-being<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Furthermore, the construction of underground car parks at strategic points in cities, known as dissuasive car parks, such as near <b>public transport stations or in peripheral areas<\/b>, helps to relieve congestion in the city centre.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">This type of parking encourages the use of other sustainable alternatives, such as leaving the vehicle in these car parks and continuing the journey by <b>public transport, bicycle or on foot<\/b>, thus reducing the need to travel by car within densely populated areas.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"title2\">Fostering cleaner cities<\/h2>\n<p align=\"justify\">This week, a particularly relevant topic is electric mobility. By \u201chiding\u201d vehicles in underground car parks, <b>the presence of cars on the surface is reduced<\/b>, improving the quality of the urban landscape and contributing to creating safer and friendlier environments for pedestrians.
